LeakVue App Privacy Policy

We recognize that you may be concerned about our use and disclosure of your personal information. Your privacy is very important to us, and the following will inform you of the information that we, American Leak Detection, may collect from you, and how it is used. By using the LeakVue app you are accepting the practices described in this policy. INFORMATION COLLECTION

The only information that is automatically collected is the date and time a test was completed. The information is stored along with all other user inputted test parameters (operator's name, job name, pool width, pool depth, and duration of the test). This data is stored solely on the device that completed the test. All stored information can be viewed or deleted on the History screen of the app.

This app does require some permissions, but none of the information from these permissions is ever stored by the app. Please see the PERMISSIONS section for more information.

If you communicate with us by reaching out to our support via the support link on the app, you will be re-directed to your device’s e-mail app. None of the communication occurs through the app itself. Your e-mail and any other information you provide will not be stored on the app, but we may contact you via e-mail to follow up on a support request or changes to this privacy policy.

This app does not gather nor store sensitive information.

INFORMATION USE

Any information gathered by this app, as laid out in INFORMATION COLLECTION, is strictly used by the app to provide information on the History screen of the app. We do not send information to an outside source.

PERMISSIONS

A few permissions are required to utilize BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) for this app. Permission requests may differ depending on your type of operating system (Android vs iOS) and even the version of your operating system. This section will go over what permissions may be requested.

Location: Location permissions may be requested. For Android 10 and 11 devices, "precise" or "fine" location (rather than "general" or "coarse") may also be required to scan for and locate BLE devices. Location data is never explicitly gathered nor stored by or on this app, though your device’s operating system may use this information for BLE functionality.

Bluetooth Scan and Connect: Bluetooth scan and connect permissions will be requested on all devices. Any Bluetooth information gathered is stored on the app only for the lifetime of the connection.

These permissions can, of course, be disabled at any time. But doing so will also disable all BLE functionality of this app (including scanning, connecting, and communicating). Permissions will need to be re-enabled to reuse BLE functionality should they be disabled.

SECURITY

We follow the generally accepted industry standards to protect your information. While encryption is used to protect what information is gathered, it follows whatever the default encryption method is used by your device's system. For more information, please view your device's privacy policy.

SHARING

What information that is gathered or stored on this app cannot be sent to an external source or be shared. Information can be shared by you, the user, through screenshots. But this app is not capable of sharing any information.

Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of the information on this app. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are online.
